Vibrant and Conducive Atmosphere for Research

The faculties of the department have been undertaking research in frontier/emerging areas of development like organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, environmental chemistry, solution thermodynamics, phase equilibria ionic liquids, polymer science, and green chemistry. Over the years these research activities have led to individual recognition for many of the faculty members of the department leading to visibility and recognition for the department. Faculties make their efforts to get financial assistance from various funding agencies like DST, CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DAE etc., Some of the faculties got startups grants to explore research. The outcome of this project is being reflected by high-quality publications. The department aims to promote research in basic science and scale up to the industrial level. The academic strength of the department is illustrated in peer-reviewed high impact factor Scientific Citation Index(SCI) journals (like Tetrahedron, Tetrahedron Letters, Royal Society of Chemistry, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Langmuir, Acta Chemica Indica, Medicinal Chemistry Research, RSC Advance, Synthetic Communication, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, Colloids and Surfaces B, Journal of Molecular Liquids, The European journal physical chemistry, Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, Journal of Solution Chemistry, Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, Thermochimica Acta). The department also registers international students for PhD program. The total number of research papers is more than 1050 and the cumulative h-index of the department is more than 200.
