Department of Human Resource Development



The department of Human Resource Development was established in 1978-79. The main objective of this department is to carry out teaching in the context of social change. The Department started Master of Labour Welfare programme in 1987 and Master of Human Resource Development programme in the year 1995. These two are the flagship programmes of the Department. The total strength of the students in these two programmes is 150 per batch. The students who have passed out from the Department with the degree of MA(HRD) or MLW are all well-placed in reputed organizations.
The Department introduced the course of Post-Graduate Diploma in Research Methodology in 2006. Faculties and research scholars from different disciplines like Economics, Sociology, Management, Medicine, HR, Education etc. are pursuing this course on Research Methodology. A Master degree course MA in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations is being launched this year. The Five Years Integrated Programme in Human Resource Development is Commenced  in the year 2015, leading to award of MA(HRD) after five years and BA(HRD) after three years. The Department introduces new courses and revises existing courses as per the changing needs of the industry.
