ABOUT DEPARTMENT (WRITE-UP IN LIMIT OF 500 WORDS)

 

The Department of Business & Industrial Management established in 1970, is the oldest University Department in Management in the State of Gujarat. The Department is housed in premises with state of art facilities having a total built-up area of more than 43,000 sq.ft.

The Department’s library has a computerized information retrieval, documentation and web inquiry centre using “SOUL” software. The library currently has 10612 books and subscribes to 60 National and 15 International Journals.

The Department has a computer lab with LAN and internet connectivity. It is equipped with state of the art software and statistical packages. Wi-Fi facility in is available on the campus. The Department has developed a communication lab to help improve the communication skills of the students. All classrooms are equipped with multimedia projectors and public address system to enhance teaching learning process.

The Department has a full fledged Placement Office headed by a full time placement officer, who helps the students in getting summer placements, winter projects and the final placements.

The Programmes Offered by the Department are:

–          Two year (Full time) MBA Programme*

–          Three year (Evening) MBA Programme for working executives

–          Ph.D. and M.Phil. Programmes

GENESIS and GROWTH of the Department

PHASE I

1970 • Commencement of the Diploma in Business & Industrial Management.

1991 • Evening Diploma Programme converted into three-yeor MBA Evening Programme.

2004 • Started an independent two-year full-fime MBA Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management.

PHASE II

1977 • Started two-year full time MBA Programme.

2001 • Increse in intake from 60 to 120 students.

2011 • Introduced Choice Based Credit System(CBCS) with Provision of Global Option.

2016 • Introduced Diploma in International Business Management
